Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal therapy is of course permanent but you literally can’t expect it to remove your pesky hair once for all and you just do not need to visit for occasional sessions or touch ups ever after. Sorry! But this is just not going to happen. Unlike other processes of hair removal such as waxing, bleaching, tweezing or electrolysis, hair removal by laser treatment lasts much long (from several months to years) and hair re-growth is not very common. Laser includes a light that will release heat energy, soaks the light perforating deep down the root of each hair strand and destroys the infinite follicle in one go. Works ideally for most hair types and skin tones. This destroyed follicle would no further be having the capacity to produce any hair afterwards for a long period of time, sometimes never.

Laser permanent hair removal functions by heating up the hair follicles to halt new hairs from growing. This puts the hair follicles in a state of dormancy for an extended time period — much longer than with alternate hair removal treatments. In some cases, when the hairs grow back, they will be finer, fewer, and lighter almost invisible to a naked eye.

Additionally, Permanent hair removal typically depends on skin color, hair color, and the intensity and utility of the specific laser based on these factors. When the optimal parameters are executed during the procedure, up to 15-30% permanent hair loss may be noticed with each session.

For some people, laser hair removal can work as a more of a permanent hair reduction than permanent hair removal. Why am I saying so - is because laser hair removal is highly effective for the treatment of dark hair and light skin types, but when laser is used upon all hair and all skin types, the results may not be as promising as for the former. As a result, such people can observe increased reduction in their ongoing hair growth instead of permanent removal for lifetime.

You can expect around 70 % of hair reduction once you are done with a series of treatments (generally 6-8 sessions).

Even though permanent laser hair removal provides long term results, but it is always beneficial to have follow-up visits to treat hair re-growth and to maintain the results. Factors like genes, hormone irregularities, and reactions to medicinal drugs can also set out the results; however, majority of patients are pleased with the results. You can have silky, smooth and hairless skin for many years using laser, same as celebs.

Light skin type responds well with the Alexandrite laser. The darker skin tone needs a different laser. The long pulsed Nd YAG laser has been proven to be most effective and safe for people with dark skin.

Finally all said and done, Laser Hair Removal Does work, works in a permanent and safe manner, but all this is achieved when an appropriate laser is used on the right candidate. Make it a point if you are looking for long term results, then you should know that laser hair removal is only effectively permanent on hair with dark roots and does not work white, blonde or on red.
